International Students

The Best Education Possible!

The Best Education Possible!

We are exceptionally thankful to provide our students with a very unique education.  The fusion of a college prep program with an arts emphasis is significantly enriched by the impact of our international students.  We want to do everything we can to ensure our local students can enjoy the benefits of befriending and learning from students their age from all around the world.  We have always relied on the generosity of our CIVA parents and other well-meaning folks to host these wonderful exchange students.

To ensure we can provide this enhanced education to our students next year, we ask you to consider hosting an exchange student.  It seems like it is always a benefit to the host family, especially if the family has other children at home.  The host family and the exchange family normally develop long term bonds as well.  Please support CIVA by hosting an exchange student for the 2016-17 school year.  Please contact Ms. Reimer at 633-1306 for more information.

Thank you,

Mr. Zimmerman

Lunch Money

Friday, May 6th, is the last day for charging lunches.  All lunches purchased after that date will need to be pre-paid online or paid in cash.  Any outstanding balance on lunch accounts will be charged to the students' school accounts.

Picnic

On Friday May 6, from 4:30-6:30 in the CIVA cafe', we will be having the annual picnic. This is a great time to come and meet families, hang out and of course eat some food. The school provides the main course and the booster club provides the drinks, paper goods & condiments. We are asking that our CIVA families help with side dishes & desserts. If your last name begins with A-L please bring a side dish to share and if your last name begins with M-Z please bring a dessert to share. The main course is hot dogs and hamburgers so fruit trays, vegetable trays, potato salad, baked beans are just a few ideas. We have a handful of gluten free people so a dish and dessert for them to be able to eat would be great. Please label items and bring in disposable trays if possible. We look forward to seeing everyone as we begin to bid farewell to another great school year!

We'd like to thank you all again for all your support through out the school year. We appreciate all your time and dedication to the CIVA family.

Coffee!

We will begin selling coffee, latte and hot tea in the mornings from 7:15-7:30.  Please stop by the cafe' in the morning and enjoy a hot beverage before school!

ACT Testing

Juniors will be taking the ACT on Tuesday, May 3rd.  Testing begins at 7:45 and all juniors will be dismissed at noon.  Thank you for ensuring that your student arrives on time that day.

Finals

Finals are on May 23, 24, 25 and 26.  Please see the events calendar for the daily schedule of finals.  All students will be dismissed at noon on these days.

Spring Concert

Friday, May 13th, at 7 pm is our fabulous Spring Concert!  Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for adults.  For the last 8 weeks, students have been learning and perfecting a number of selections for your entertainment.  Selections include “Smooth Criminal,” “Turn On The Radio,” “Footloose,” “Popular Song,” and much more.

We will also be featuring the winners of our annual Concerto Competition.  All performing arts students are eligible to compete with dance, music, and theatre selections prepared outside of class.  They perform for a panel of judges and are rated on things like technical performance, difficulty of the piece, stage presence, and more.  The scores from each judge are then averaged to create one score per student, and the top three scorers are given the three solo spots in the concert.

Lastly, we will be honoring our current senior performers for their last show at CIVA, with a short recognition and a song in tribute to their time with us.  Please be sure to join us in wishing them well in their future shows and other endeavors in college and beyond!
