Dr. Thomas' Visit
Dr. Michael Thomas, the Superintendent of District 11, came to CIVA and spoke with the students and staff during forum on October 16th.
His message was inspirational and empowering and our students loved learning more about his story. We are very fortunate to have such a positive and progressive person serving our community.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Conference are on Wednesday, October 23 from 5-7 and Thursday, October 24 from 4-7. No appointment is necessary. Please use the east (back entrance.)
New Staff!
Welcome to Nick Madson! Mr. Madson has joined the CIVA staff as the Theatre Teacher.
CIVA: A Deeper Shade of Teal
In order to assist with being good stewards of our resources, CIVA is no longer using the single use plastic water bottles in the lunch program. Recycle cups are available to ensure proper hydration for our students and staff. We have been using recyclable plates instead closed-cell extruded polystyrene foam, commonly known as Styrofoam for years now. We thank our students for taking the time to follow through and recyclable our lunch materials.
Thanksgiving Feast
Our annual student Thanksgiving Feast is on November 21. This formal affair is an opportunity for all CIVA students to dress up enjoy a meal together. Volunteers will be needed. If you can help, please email Ms. Betsy at betsy.acree@d11.org.
CIVA Is Going to Iceland!
In June of 2021 CIVA is offering the opportunity for our students/alumni, parents and staff to travel to Iceland through EF (Education First). CIVA has teamed up with EF for many international trips and is also using this company to coordinate the trip in June of 2020 to Greece.
There is a meeting on Oct. 22nd at 5:30 at CIVA for those who are interested in learning more about the trip to Iceland. Also, information is available at https://rsvp.eftours.com/frhd6hz
